Kaimosi Friends University recorded one of the most inspiring performances in Kenyan university sports history after finishing Second Overall in Africa at the WFDF 2025 All-Africa Ultimate Frisbee Championship held at the Kampala International School (KISU) Field in Uganda.

The high-profile tournament, which ran from October 9 to 12, brought together elite university and club teams from across the continent. Despite being considered underdogs, KAFU produced a dominant show in Pool B, sweeping all their matches with remarkable consistency and tactical brilliance.

Team captain and players of Kaimosi Friends University proudly lift the Silver Trophy at the WFDF 2025 All-Africa Ultimate Frisbee Championship.

From the very first whistle, KAFU displayed exceptional composure, defeating Bukavu of DR Congo 15–10 in a thrilling opener. They went on to overcome home favourites Impala FC (Uganda) 11–7 before edging Vikings Uganda 9–6 in a tight contest. KAFU sealed their perfect run with a commanding 8–0 victory over Entebbe Bull Sharks, cementing their place in the final stages.

Their electrifying style of play, teamwork and resilience impressed coaches, fans and officials across Africa. With each win, the team proudly flew both the KAFU flag and the Kenyan national flag, symbolizing national pride and rising sporting excellence.

“This success is not just about medals, it reflects our investment in talent development, character building and international exposure for our students.” said Mr. Joseph Sandagi in charge of Sport Department at Kaimosi Friends University.

The silver-medal finish marks KAFU’s highest-ever continental sports achievement and signals the university’s emergence as a serious competitor on the African stage. The institution has in recent years invested heavily in competitive sports, coaching, and student welfare efforts that are now paying off.

KAFU management congratulated the players, technical bench and supporters for their outstanding performance, vowing to continue supporting sports as a pillar of holistic education.

With this remarkable achievement, Kaimosi Friends University has firmly announced its arrival as one of Africa’s rising sporting powerhouses.
